Carol Ann  Coleman
Carol Ann (Richards) Coleman was called home to the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Carol was born on April 8, 1938. She was the fifth child of six born to Willie James and Martha Richards, who preceded her in death.
Carol was baptized and received her first communion at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a dedicated member until the time of her death. She graduated from St. Alphonsus Rock High School and entered Harris Stowe College for a brief period and transferred to Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. While at Lincoln University, Carol met, fell in love with and married Irwin Timothy Coleman, who also preceded her in death. To this union was born a son, Eric Timothy Coleman.
Carol graduated from Lincoln University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She also received her Masters at St. Louis University in Special Education with special attention to Learning Disabilities. Carol was a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and was an active participant in its objectives and activities. Carol was employed by the St. Louis Public Schools for a number of years.
One niece, Wanda Sue Richards preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn: a loving son, Eric; three sisters-in-law, Velma Coleman, Harolyn Richards, and Yvonne Richards; a brother, Lucian Richards; two sisters, Vera Baird and Rosemarie Richards; two nephews, Jeffrey Richards, Bradley Richards; five nieces, Brenda Richards, Marsha Richards, Leslie (Baird) Wallace, Suzanne Richards and Dawn (Lovelace) Kiemann; a great-nephew and godson, Brian Richard Wallace; a great-nephew, Carson Kiemann; four great-nieces, Fatima Richard, Camille Kiemann, Zoe’ Richards and Raina Richards; a very dear and close friend, Barbara Moore and a host of other relatives and friends.
