Devon Cortez Fletcher was born March 13, 1987 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the tenth of eleven children born to the union of Calvin and Linda Fletcher Sr. His sister, Demetra and Nicole, preceded him in death.

Devon professed a hope in Christ at an early age at New Emmanuel M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeremiah Macon.

He received his formal education in the St. Louis Public Schools. Devon was always willing to assist others when in need, “Dee” as he was affectionately known, displayed a contagious smile which could brighten an entire room.

Devon was quiet but crafty with his jokes. He had a gift to DeeJay at family events at a moment’s notice. Devon would often play the music and make his way to the kitchen for his favorite meal, “chicken, no sides” “Dee” would also assist his friend Rob with photography as his spare hobby.

Devon was a sounding board to family and friends as his advice would only be that glorious smile. Everyone who encountered “Dee” left with a laugh and a smile. Devon transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Devon leaves to cherish his precious memories; his mother and father, Linda and Calvin Fletcher, Sr.; his grandmother, Ocie Collins; daughters, Dream, Shamari, Danura; five brothers, Calvin (Tondra), Juan, Jermaine, Maurice, and Martez; three sisters, Tamika, Chelshea and Monica; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
